“Mom, I’m Sorry” is a Chinese animated series adapted from the South Korean manhwa of the same name by MiTi and illustrator GUGU. The series aired on the Bilibili platform from May 23 to September 19, 2024.
The story centers on Dong Cuican, a young man who realizes that his mother is dying. In a desperate attempt to save her, Cuican makes a deal with a longevity merchant, exchanging part of his lifespan to restore his mother’s health. As a result, his mother is sent back to her 20s, becoming a college student with a new chance at life that she has never had before. Cuican then dedicates the rest of her life to making sure her mother enjoys her new life to the fullest, all the while hiding her own sacrifices. Things get complicated when a friend of Cuican’s falls in love with her young mother.
The series depicts themes of familial love, sacrifice, and second chances, with a supernatural twist that adds emotional depth to the story. “Mom, I’m Sorry” consists of 18 episodes, each about 17 minutes long, and has finished airing.
