A few months ago, MAPPA Studios announced that they were working on a movie project. The movie currently in production is a compilation of the first half of the anime’s second season.
For those who don’t know what a compilation movie is, a compilation movie is a feature-length film that consists primarily of footage from a Japanese anime television series.These compilation films are designed to condense the anime’s story into more digestible parts.
The announcement of the Jujutsu Kaisen compilation film came as Jujutsu Kaisen held a special event in Japan.
“The production team has confirmed that a film combining the ‘Hidden Treasure Box’ and ‘Premature Death’ storylines is being produced,” the statement said. Additionally, MAPPA Studios will simultaneously release a travel guidebook scheduled for release in 2025.
