1. Oda Created Chopper as a Mascot
Oda wanted to create a very iconic character. His distinctive trait is looking cute while also being capable of becoming a cool fighter. Thus, Tony Tony Chopper was created, becoming both a mascot and an important character.
2. First Non-Human Devil Fruit User Shown

Not the first in the story, but rather the first shown in the series. Chopper became the first known non-human creature to eat a Devil Fruit. Since his appearance, many animals and even inanimate objects have somehow managed to eat Devil Fruits.
3. Tony Tony Chopper Doesn’t Know What He Is

When asked, Chopper can’t explain what kind of creature he is. Whether he’s a reindeer, a human, a monster, or a tanuki, Chopper doesn’t know either. But in some conditions (which might still be true today), he has firmly stated that he is a monster.
4. Chopper’s Signature Dance is Yasugi Bushi

When happy and celebrating, Chopper has a signature dance. He puts chopsticks between his nose and mouth. This isn’t just any dance – it’s a legendary Japanese dance called Yasugi Bushi.

Oda explained in SBS that Chopper would never have sexual interest in humans. He emphasized this despite Chopper eating a Human-type Devil Fruit. Chopper still has animal instincts and is only interested in other animals of his kind, including Milky from the Mink tribe.
6. Lowest Bounty

Not just in the Straw Hat group, but Chopper might have the lowest bounty in the entire One Piece world. Before the timeskip, his bounty was only 50 Belly, and after the timeskip, it only increased to 100 Belly. This is because Chopper is considered just a pet, not an official member of the Straw Hats.
7. Youngest Sibling in the Straw Hats

Among all Straw Hat members, Chopper is the youngest. When he joined, Chopper was only 15 years old, and became 17 after the timeskip. However, in reindeer years, he’s already an adult.
8. Initially, Oda Didn’t Want to Make Chopper a Mascot Character

While Oda drew Chopper like a mascot character, he initially stated that he didn’t want to create characters just as mascots, including Chopper. However, Oda changed his mind after seeing Chopper’s anime design and hearing Ikue Otani’s voice acting. Oda agreed that Chopper was indeed very suitable as a mascot.
9. Chopper is Immune to Hancock’s Mero Mero no Mi Because He’s Not Interested in Humans

In One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3, if Chopper’s character fights Boa Hancock, he won’t be affected by Mero Mero no Mi and won’t turn to stone. As mentioned in fact number 5, in the series itself, Chopper has confirmed that he’s not interested in humans, as he is fundamentally a reindeer.
10. The X on Chopper’s Hat is Referenced from the Red Cross Symbol

The “X” symbol on his hat, from both old and new designs, isn’t just any symbol. Oda made the X symbol on Chopper’s hat derived from the red cross symbol (+), but rotated to become an X.
